The HDAV2000KLV is a High Definition video codec with support for extraction of STANAG 4609 KLV Metadata from HD-SDI sources. The HDAV2000KLV is built on established AMP ultra low latency, video and audio encoding technology. The HDAV2000KLV encodes video to the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (Part 10) standard and supports extraction of STANAG 4609 KLV metadata from the HD-SDI input as per MISB 0605.3. The HDAV2000KLV also features 4 SD composite video inputs and a high performance audio controller with stereo input and outputs that allows audio to be captured from HD-SDI and Line inputs and synchronized with the captured video.

The HDAV2000KLV provides hardware decoding allowing previously recorded video and audio to be output via HD-SDI, and composite outputs. KLV metadata can also be output embedded in the HD-SDI output.

The HDAV2000KLV is a dual card, PCI-104 form factor board set for systems with a PCI-104 bus. The HDAV2000KLV is supported by comprehensive SDKs for Video Recording and Streaming that minimizes development risk and shorten time to market.

VGASTANAG

Advanced Micro Peripherals® new VGASTANAG module converts non-interlaced VGA output of up to 1280 x 1024 SXGA resolution from any standard graphics source to high-quality STANAG 3350 compliant signals. All three STANAG frequencies Class A, B and C are available, in standard or extended temperature versions of the module.

The STANAG 3350 signal is output as separate red, green and blue components, with the video synchronization pulses embedded in the green component. Internally, the VGASTANAG module features high speed analog signal digitization, video scaling and frame rate conversion, and a timing generator. This provides seamless and automatic conversion of progressive analog VGA input to interlaced RGB output conforming to STANAG 3350 requirements.

The VGASTANAG is an intelligent stand-alone device with its own on-board CPU. It is operating system independent and requires no device driver software. Operating from a single +5V power supply, the PCI-104 form factor module can be used stand-alone or mounted on a PCI-104 or PC/104-Plus stack for a compact, convenient embedded solution without demanding host CPU resources. The module supports simultaneous VGA and STANAG displays.

Typical applications include aerospace instrumentation, instrument panels, video surveillance and multi-function display units (MFDUs).

Tomcat (VL-EPM-16)

Driven by a DMP Vortex86DX processor, the Tomcat runs at 800 MHz. The 32-bit CPU integrates memory and I/O controller hub functions to provide an x86-compatible single-chip solution with ultra-low power consumption.

Tomcat’s standard on-board features include Fast Ethernet, up to 512 MB soldered-on DDR2 RAM, two USB 2.0 ports, four serial ports, IDE and LPT interfaces, a CompactFlash socket for removable flash storage, and two general purpose timers. The PC/104-Plus platform provides plug-in access to industry standard expansion modules. Support for keyboard and mouse is provided via USB or PS/2.

Available in both commercial (0° to +70°C) and industrial (-40° to +85°C) temperature versions; the Tomcat provides fanless operation and meets MIL-STD-202G specifications for shock and vibration. Transient voltage suppression (TVS) devices on critical I/O ports provide enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for the system.

The Tomcat is compatible with a variety of x86 operating systems including Windows, Windows Embedded, Linux, VxWorks, and QNX.

RTD’s SPM176430 and SPM186420 dspModules feature the Texas Instruments TMS320C6416 DSP operating at 600 or 1000 MHz. dspModules speed up math-intensive operations, permitting the CPU to handle application specific tasks. By utilizing the on-board Flash memory the dspModule can be used as a stand-alone CPU. This reduces overall system cost and power consumption when a CPU is not needed. Multi-channel buffer serial ports (McBSP) provide for extensive I/O bandwidth up to 75 Mb/s each. SyncBus provides synchronization between cards.

Select dspModules allow for up to four expansion cards via a PlatformBus. The PlatformBus provides a dedicated 32-bit bus that connects directly to the DSP, simplifying development of custom analog front-end boards.

These dspModules are programmable in C/C++ via Texas Instruments Code Composer Studio and RTD’s dspFramework libraries to streamline software development.
