Model 516 | MPEG-2/1 Frame Grabber and Video Encoder / Decoder

Model 516 is a PC/104 frame grabber that captures and transfers full-frame (640 x 480) video at 30 frames per second. It overcomes the low bandwidth of the PC/104 bus by using hardware compression to produce encoded MPEG-2 and MPEG-1 data streams of 440 kbits to 10 Mbits per second. It also has two audio input channels that are synchronized to the MPEG data.

VMIX104 - PAL/NTSC Video Overlay Controller for PC/104

The VMIX104 is a low power real time Video Overlay Controller capable of accepting up to 4 PAL/NTSC signals plus Text and Graphics overlay. The resulting information, with up to 4 live video windows, is output as high quality composite PAL/NTSC signal suitable for driving a wide range of display devices.

The VMIX104 offloads compute-intensive video processing allowing the unit to be hosted by a low end PC/104 computer over standard 8/16-bit PC/104 bus. Built-in video multiplexers allow selection of 4 concurrent sources from a total of up to 8 cameras. Any of the 4 selected inputs can be re-sized, cropped, re-positioned and overlayed or Alpha-blended with text/graphics and output to PAL/NTSC. Viewing modes include side-by-side, quadrant display, picture-in-picture etc providing a high degree of video overlay flexibility.

The VMIX104 is supported by a suite of drivers for Windows-NT/2000/ XP and Linux.

VTV2000IS - VGA to TV Scan Converter for PC/104

The VTV2000IS is a scan converter board that accepts non-interlaced VGA signals at up to 2048×1536 resolution from a PC or Macintosh computer for conversion to broadcast-quality NTSC or PAL RS170/TV signals.

Unlike conventional scan converters, the VTV2000IS features on-board Frame Store and a DSP unit which performs scan conversion, flicker filtering, scaling and colour space conversion in the digital domain.

The processed video data is sent to the digital video encoder for conversion into broadcast-quality composite and S-Video signals (PAL/NTSC) or RS170.

The VTV2000IS features an on-board micro controller allowing it to operate completely standalone without run-time control from an external system. The settings of the card can be modified via a serial link, with application specific configuration able to be stored to the non-volatile storage of the card.

The UNIO96/48-5 are 96/48-channel digital I/O PC/104 add-on cards. The cards deal with the TTL-level signals and can be used to interface with opto-isolated modules racks, displays, LED-devices. The card provides a wide range of functions – counting, sequencing, timing diagrams generation, pulse width modulation, code conversion etc.
The module uses FPGA chips for signal processing. It supports in-system programming, which allows to change the control logic algorithm without turning power off. Software examples are available in C, description files of basic and custom circuit programming variants are available on the CD supplied with the card.

Tomcat (VL-EPM-16)

Driven by a DMP Vortex86DX processor, the Tomcat runs at 800 MHz. The 32-bit CPU integrates memory and I/O controller hub functions to provide an x86-compatible single-chip solution with ultra-low power consumption.

Tomcat’s standard on-board features include Fast Ethernet, up to 512 MB soldered-on DDR2 RAM, two USB 2.0 ports, four serial ports, IDE and LPT interfaces, a CompactFlash socket for removable flash storage, and two general purpose timers. The PC/104-Plus platform provides plug-in access to industry standard expansion modules. Support for keyboard and mouse is provided via USB or PS/2.

Available in both commercial (0° to +70°C) and industrial (-40° to +85°C) temperature versions; the Tomcat provides fanless operation and meets MIL-STD-202G specifications for shock and vibration. Transient voltage suppression (TVS) devices on critical I/O ports provide enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for the system.

The Tomcat is compatible with a variety of x86 operating systems including Windows, Windows Embedded, Linux, VxWorks, and QNX.
