It interfaces with the PCI Express® bus and uses large FIFOs and DMA transfers to allow for efficient management of digital data. Peripherals such as Pulse Width Modulators, Incremental Encoders, Programmable Clocks, 82C54 Timer/Counters and Advanced Interrupt Modules are all on board. All 48 bits have an individually programmed direction and mask. The Advanced Interrupt Modules provide Match, Event, and Strobe interrupts which latch all 48 bits upon firing. Peripherals can be connected internally and a large selection of interrupts can be generated. The wide variety of configuration options allows for the realization of many complex digital I/O scenarios.
