RTD’s SPM176431 dspModule features the Texas Instruments TMS320C6416 DSP operating at 600 or 1000 MHz. dspModules speed up math-intensive operations, permitting the CPU to handle application specific tasks. By utilizing the on-board Flash memory the dspModule can be used as a stand-alone processor. This reduces overall system cost and power consumption when a CPU is not needed. This module includes a stereo audio port for audio signal processing with AC’97 CODEC support. Versatility is enhanced by two RS-232/422/485 serial ports. Multi-channel buffered serial port (McBSP) provides for extensive I/O bandwidth up to 75 Mb/s each. Also, includes 7 bit-programmable advanced Digital I/O port with match and event modes.
